nanoActiv® HRT is a well additive treatment mechanically powered by highly surface-modified nanoparticles. These particles are designed to penetrate deep into the natural fracture network and persist with long efficacy to deliver increased and sustained oil and gas production.

Steep production decline curves mean there is intense pressure to keep replacing the production lost year after year. Operators are looking for ways to get more oil out of existing wells without expensive refracturing or other intervention technologies.

nanoActiv® HRT penetrates the fracture network on a nanoscopic scale with particles so small they reach hydrocarbons deep in the natural fracture network, where no product has ever been able to go.

 

The Solution

nanoActiv® HRT utilizes nano-sized particles in a colloidal dispersion. These particles behave as a wedge film driven by Brownian motion and diffusion defined as disjoining pressure—greatly facilitating and accelerating the mobility of gas, oil, and water, or mixtures thereof.

Application

nanoActiv® HRT is designed to be used in clean fluids and as the only additive in a selected volume of treatment. Its recommended use is as a small pre-pad pill and/or intermittent slug pumped ahead of or within each stage of a fracturing / stimulation treatment, or as a stand-alone volume committed to a particular wellbore or surface facility remediation application. nanoActiv® HRT can be made available in neutral, low, or high pH fluid compatible formulations. High temperature formulations enable application with environments up to 350⁰ F.

Numerous factors affect the performance of an oil well—the geology, the number and size of treatment stages, the choice of additives, etc. nanoActiv® HRT treated wells have shown meaningful performance improvement versus comparative wells from the same operators. While no single technology or treatment can account for the entire performance of an oil well, the effects of nanoActiv® HRT are significant and compelling.
